About Us
Prideaux Lodge is a large, detached Edwardian house situated in Little Common, within close proximity to the town centre and seafront.
The home provides 24 hour residential care as well as Respite and Day Care for the elderly and those with a Dementia.
Accommodation
Accommodation at Prideaux Lodge consists of 16 single rooms with various en-suite facilities. A wet room/assisted bathroom is located on each floor. Each room is decorated and furnished to a high standard including a wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and armchair. We like to encourage you to bring in small items of furniture, ornaments and pictures to add a personal touch and make your room feel your own.
We have a spacious, bright lounge which provides a pleasant area to accommodate our recreational activities, or for residents to spend time relaxing, watching television or listening to music. We also have a separate cosy television lounge leading onto the rear garden. An additional large, open rear lounge can also be used for recreational activities as well as a day care room which also opens out onto the decking and garden.
An Emergency Nurse Call System is installed in each room and there is also call points strategically placed around the home to enable you to call for assistance when required. All linen is provided and laundered by the home. Personal clothing is also washed by the in house laundry service although items of clothing which require dry cleaning are charged separately by a local dry cleaning company.
Dining
The home cooked menu is varied and nutritious.
We cater for all types of dietary requirements and our in-house catering staff are available to discuss special diets at any time.
All meals are served in the dining room or can be served in your own bedroom or the lounge area.
Gardens
Our large, secluded and secure rear garden gives great pleasure to our residents and visitors alike.
In addition to the landscaped garden, there is a large decked area with seating and ramp access to the lawn.
Our Staff
We use a rigorous recruitment procedure to enable us to employ staff who have the right attributes and skills to ensure continuity.
We require our care staff to have, or at least be working towards a QCF (formerly NVQ) Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
All staff complete a comprehensive Induction Programme to ensure that they have all of the necessary knowledge, training and information to carry out their roles.
Visitors
Sadly the current situation with COVID19 means the following does not apply, but we're hopeful that before long, we will be back to normal.
Visitors to Prideaux Lodge are very welcome at any time and will always be offered refreshments when greeted. We at Prideaux Lodge are constantly trying to improve the service we offer to our residents and families.
